The Chattanooga women’s indoor and outdoor track and field schedules are ready for release, outgoing Mocs head coach Andy Meyer announced.
Meyer announced his retirement from coaching last month effective December 31. Assistant coach Patrick Gildea will assume the reigns for the winter and spring seasons while a nation-wide search for the next head coach begins.
“After a successful cross country season, we look forward to carrying that momentum into the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons,” Gildea said.
All three regular season indoor meets will be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
The season opens with the UAB Invitational on January 11. That is followed just six days later at the Samford Invitational on Jan. 17. Samford hosts the annual Bulldog Invitational almost a month later on Feb. 14.
The Southern Conference Championships, hosted by VMI, return to Lexington, Va., for the seventh straight year from Feb. 28 through March 1.
The Mocs are close to home for the start of the outdoor season March 21-22 at the Lee University Flame Invite in Cleveland, Tenn.
Select individuals will head to Raleigh, N.C., for the Raleigh Relays the last weekend in March then return to the Volunteer State for the Tennessee Relays April 4-5.
Chattanooga heads back to Cleveland for the Lee Invite April 11-12 and close out the regular season in Atlanta at the Georgia Tech Invitational April 18-19.
After a four-week break used for training, the Mocs head to the SoCon Championships in Birmingham, Ala., hosted by Samford University May 12-13. The NCAA East Regionals are schedule for May 28-31 in Jacksonville, Fla., and the National Championships will take place June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.
“Our athletes will continue to strive to be at their very best at the Southern Conference and NCAA Championships,” Gildea concluded.
