It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Barker, a cherished nurse, sister, and aunt, on December 6, 2024, at the age of 54.

For more than 20 years, Angela devoted herself to the care of others, working as a compassionate and skilled nurse at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, La., and Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. Throughout her career, she was known for her unwavering dedication to her patients, her kind heart, and her remarkable ability to bring comfort during the most challenging times.

Angela’s nurturing spirit extended well beyond her professional life. After the tragic loss of her mother, Elaine Hammons, she became a pillar of strength for her younger brother and sister, helping to raise them with love, grace, and resilience. Angela’s selflessness and deep devotion to her family were defining characteristics of her life.

Angela was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Hammons, and her brother, Victor Barker.

She is survived by her brother, Sean Hammons of Ringgold, her sister, Robyn Gardner of Santa Maria, Ca., and a host of nieces and nephews who adored her.

Angela’s legacy of compassion, love, and service to others will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her gentle soul and the profound impact she had on those around her will never be forgotten.

Angela, your love and kindness will remain in our hearts forever. May you rest in peace.

Arrangements are entrusted to Cremation Center of Chattanooga 1345 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, 423 362-5999.
