With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Henry Nelson Clark Redmond, 74, who left us peacefully on February 9, 2024, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, surrounded by his family.

Henry was a beloved father, Poppy, brother, uncle, husband, and friend to all who knew him.

Born on Sept. 27, 1949, in Byrdstown, Tn., Henry was known for his love of family, especially his daughter Jennifer. He also loved the outdoors, his dogs, and, most importantly, God.

He served his community as an electronic repair teacher and spent much of his life working at Tennessee Valley Authority. During his career, he also worked as an insurance salesman. Henry enjoyed gardening and fishing. He often could be found helping others, collecting glass jars, sharing stories, and making memories.

Henry is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Redmond, sisters, Darlene Carmichael and Joyce (Dale) Sullens, six grandchildren, five adopted grandchildren, adopted daughters, Kate (Ryan) Donoho and Bethany (Derek) Dameron, Shannon (Matt) Patty, nieces and nephews in Tennessee, Texas, and Missouri.

He was predeceased by his birth parents, Marion and Sarah Clark, his adopted parents, Harry and Vivian Redmond, and several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

The family invites you to celebrate Henry’s life on Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home at 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn. 37343.

Arrangements are under the care of Cremation Center of Chattanooga, 1345 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
