Ron Alexander
Mr. Ron Alexander, age 76 of Rocky Face, Georgia, passed away Friday February 16, 2024, at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Alexander and his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Bert Tjebben; sisters Connie Varde, Bonita Alexander, and Pat Hadler; and brother-in-law Gerry Sutton.
Ron was a member of the Methodist faith.
He grew up on a farm in Iowa where he spent countless hours a day working the land and taking care of the animals when he wasn’t in school. Once he got older, he left Iowa for Pensacola, Fl., where he met the love of his life, Lynn. He provided for her and worked all his life to make her happy and keep her safe. He was proud of his country and served in the United States Airforce.
He was a values-based man of character who always stood up for what was right. He had a strong work ethic and believed in working for what he had. He taught his children the value of relationships, hard work, and independence. He was someone they could count on to listen and give sound advice and direction. He gave them answers when he needed to but knew how and when to allow them to figure things out on their own, even if it meant they might learn hard lessons in the process. He was instrumental in helping them find their way in this world. Along with Lynn, Ron was their biggest fan and never missed an opportunity to tell them how proud he was of their accomplishments.
Ron could fix and build anything, and according to his granddaughter, Kate, he knew everything. He will be missed by all who knew him, and will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, a trusted friend, a wonderful Grandpa, and the best Dad on the planet.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lynn Alexander of Rocky Face; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Andy Thompson of Flowery Branch, Ga; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Lindsey Wolgast-Alexander of Harlem, Ga; sisters and brother-in-law, Kathie Sutton of Pensacola, Fl., and Caroline and Greg Carithers of Pensacola, Fl; brother Kim Tjebben of Ia; step mother Cynthia Alexander of Pensacola, Fl; grandchildren Kate Thompson, William Wolgast-Alexander, and George Wolgast-Alexander; nieces and nephews, Alecia Enfinger, Ashley (Ed) Seitz, Lacey (Chad) Ray, Izabella Carithers, Peyton Carithers, and Greyson Carithers.
