The Morning Pointe Foundation will hold its 9th Annual Mastering Memory Golf Tournament on May 20 at the Lookout Mountain Club.

The tournament is returning to its original May timing after taking place in August last year due to renovations. Twenty-five teams from throughout the Tennessee Valley will compete, with sponsorships and entry fees supporting the Foundation.

Registration and breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m., with the shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. There will be an awards luncheon at 1 p.m.
following the tournament.

Contests include hole-in-one, longest drive, putting and closest-to-the-hole, with various prizes.

“We had a great turnout last year with lots of enthusiastic golfers who wanted to support our mission,” said Morning Pointe Foundation Executive Director Miranda Perez. “The Mastering Memory Golf Tournament raises funds for scholarships for students at our partner schools who have a heart to care for seniors, but maybe not the funds to pursue or complete their education.”

The Morning Pointe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living founded by senior healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow. The 501(c)3 nonprofit public service organization was created in 2014 to provide caregiver support programs, sponsor educational awareness events and fund clinical scholarships to advance the care of seniors throughout the southeast.

Sponsorships are available at multiple levels and include new recognition opportunities throughout the course and the event.

“Last year, we were privileged to be one of the first groups to play on the newly reengineered course, and we are excited to be back for another great day of golf,” said Mr. Vital, Morning Pointe Senior Living president. “This is a great event at a beautiful location and for a great cause - supporting our foundation and the tremendous work they do in making dreams come true for worthy students at our partner schools.”

In case of rain, the event will be held June 17.

Last year’s tournament raised nearly $75,000 for the Foundation.
