Prominent Figure In The Community Excelled In Sports

James Anthony Alsobrook, a beloved resident of Chattanooga, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Born on Nov. 28, 1934, to James Edwin and Dorothy Wilcox, James was a prominent figure in the community, having graduated from Notre Dame High School and Christian Brothers College in Memphis. With a career as a safety coordinator in chemical plants, James also excelled in sports, particularly tennis and softball.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his sister, Ann Alsobrook Maxwell. He is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda “Boots” Alsobrook, and cherished children: James Anthony (Jacqueline) Alsobrook, Jeffery Alsobrook, Karen Alsobrook (Neil) Bratcher, and Barbara Alsobrook (Larry) Rich, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and interment will be held at noon on Wednesday, April 3, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Rev. Troy Walliser officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Siskin Hospital for Rehabilitation or Hearth Hospice.
