We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our beloved mother, wife, and Nana, Brenda Ann Honeycutt, who passed away on April 4, 2024, at the age of 80 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

She had so much love for her family, always putting their needs above her own. Her nurturing spirit, incredible sense of humor, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew her.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lorene Litton; her brother, Bill Litton; her sister, Bobby McBrayer; and her niece, Jennifer Litton.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell Edward Honeycutt; her daughter, Shannon Honeycutt-Smith (Andrew), her sibling, Chuck Litton, her grandchildren, Ella and Lila, her nieces Sherry Anderson (Steve), Sandy Bendall (Dean), Sheila Powell (Scott) and her nephew, Corbin Litton.

As a mother, Brenda was caring, kind, and selfless, completely focused on her family, and always guiding her only daughter with wisdom, grace, and humor. As a wife, she was devoted and loyal, standing by her husband, Eddie, for 62 years of marriage.

As a doting grandmother, she adored playing with and spending time with her granddaughters and always managed to spoil them rotten (as she should). As an avid shopper and collector of cherished things, TJ Maxx, QVC, and any antique store in the tri-state area will never be the same without her. Brenda loved to shop, collect, and make everything in her house beautiful. She especially enjoyed decorating for Halloween and Christmas every year, and her trees were always the most beautiful.

Brenda touched the lives of so many, as her home was a safe haven for friends and family who needed the love and light she served, along with feeding everyone fantastic snacks. Her smile and laugh welcomed all who came into her home; you often felt you were the funniest person in the world when talking to her because her laughter came so easily. She was always up for dancing to music videos or watching the latest comedy or rom com with her daughter’s friends. She never hesitated to open her home to anyone who needed a place to stay.

Brenda’s presence and bright, infectious laughter brought warmth and joy to every gathering, and her absence will be deeply felt by all. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. May she rest in peace, knowing she was cherished and adored by all who knew her.

A visitation was on Saturday April 6, from 10:30 am - 12:30 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn. 37343.

A Celebration of Life was at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Richard Floyd officiating. Interment followed in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements entrusted to Hamilton Funeral Home, Hixson.
