Valencia Ann Maddox, 60, from Chattanooga, Tennessee, transitioned peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, April 8, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born on Sept. 17, 1963, in Chattanooga, to the late James Maddox, Jr. and Linda Watson Maddox. Valencia was preceded in death by both her mother and her father.
She leaves to cherish her memories her only son Alex Dante Wells, one brother: Byron L. Maddox of Nashville, Tennessee one sister: Joyce D. Peters of Nashville, Tennessee, one niece: Blair A. Peters, three nephews: Marcus Maddox, Bryce Peters, Kobe Young and a host of other family and friends that will truly miss her.
Valencia was a devoted member of St. Luke CME Church where she served as former president of the usher board.
Valencia was a 1981 graduate of Chattanooga (City) High School. She received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Tennessee State University. Valencia was employed by the Metro Government of Nashville Davidson County Clerk’s Office and resided in Nashville, until the Lord called her home.
The funeral will be on April 16, at 12 p.m. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. at St. Luke CME Church, 2008 Ed Temple Blvd., Nashville, TN 37208.
Graveside service will be on April 17, 2024 at 12 p.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery, 4016 Tennessee Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37410
