Children’s Hospital At Erlanger And Safe Kids Southeast Tennessee Coalition Host “Safe Kids At The Zoo” Event

Children’s Hospital at Erlanger has partnered with the Chattanooga Zoo to bring safety education to our local community in a fun and child-friendly way. The event will take place on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chattanooga Zoo and is free with zoo admission. 

Families will learn how to stay safe on the road, at home, and at play with a full day of activities. Representatives from Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, Safe Journey, Centerson, Volunteer Behavioral Health Services, Nurture the Next, Mental health Cooperative, Department of Early Learning, Children’s Advocacy Center, Hamilton County Health Department, CABIA, Erlanger Nurse-Family Partnership, We R CPR, Erlanger Trauma Services, Chattanooga Allergy Clinic, Erlanger Community Health Center, City of Chattanooga, DentalQuest, Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network, Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening, BeSMART, Mental Health Association of East Tennessee, Parkridge Health System and many more will be at the event with interactive lessons for parents and children alike. 

Lindsay Bass, Pediatric Trauma Injury Prevention and Outreach coordinator at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, said, “Last year’s event was a lot of fun and provided fun activities while also teaching kids and parents how to remain safe in their everyday life. We hope that this year will be even better.”

This event is organized by Children’s Hospital at Erlanger’s Safe and Sound and Safe Kids Southeast Tennessee. Both organizations are dedicated to helping parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries. 

Safe Kids at the Zoo will take place on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Chattanooga Zoo. The event is free with a zoo admission purchase. Attendees can receive a two-dollar discount if they purchase tickets from the Chattanooga Zoo website, chattzoo.org.
