Chattanooga girls went 1-2-3 in Friday night’s 2K steeplechase at UT’s Tom Black Track in Knoxville. The notoriously grueling steeplechase requires runners to clear five hurdles per lap— including a water barrier. In her first ever attempt at the event, Baylor’s Addi Greene not only won the race (7:29.67) but also broke the nine- year-old baylor School record. GPS’s Gilly Shumate established a new school record with her second place finish of 7:35.54. Signal Mountain’s Hannah Laramore completed the school record sweep by breaking SMMHS’s mark with her third place time of 7:36.65.
