Robin O’Neil Campbell, 66, of Chattanooga joyfully joined her parents, Jimmie and Ruth O’Neil, and her brother Marshall O’Neil, in heaven on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

She leaves behind her husband: John M. Campbell II; her children by marriage: John M. Campbell III of Birmingham, and Justin Brannon Campbell and his wife Brandy of Bolingbroke, Ga., and Brandy’s daughter, Brittany Carter of Chicago IL; her nephew: James O’Neil of Atlanta and his wife, Christa; and her friend of 42 years: Perian St. George and her husband Robert of Spicewood, Tx., who provided loving care and support for Robin during her extended illness.

Robin was truly a “people person” who always placed others ahead of herself; who gave love and respect to friends and strangers alike; who listened attentively and patiently to children (as well as adults); and whose smile always brought sunshine even on the cloudiest of days. Robin enjoyed entertaining and cooking for friends, she enjoyed cruising on the Tennessee River, and she had an adventuresome streak that led her to try tandem hang-gliding on Lookout Mountain.

Robin still has many close friends from her hometown of Laurel, Ms., from college at Mississippi State where she was a Chi Omega, and from her 14-year career in marketing, sales, and management with the Burroughs/Unisys Corporation in Miami and Atlanta. However, Robin was always at her best when serving others and she lived her faith as the director of Evangelism and Programs for a 6,000-member Methodist church in Roswell, Ga., and by leading the local Habitat for Humanity organization. Upon relocating to Chattanooga in 2007, Robin continued her volunteer activities with the Philanthropic Education Organization as well as the MaryEllen Locher Foundation, CHI Memorial Hospital, and the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Guild.

In lieu of a funeral, a Celebration of Life will be held for Robin on her birthday, Monday, July 29. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the “Robin O’Neil Campbell Scholarship Fund” by sending a check to “PEO Chapter AD, c/o Ginny Green, 1765 Sedgefield Drive, Ooltewah TN 37363.”
