Two Chattanooga high school football teams,
Baylor and McCallie, are ranked among
the top 100 teams in the preseason by MaxPreps. They both met on the Finley Stadium turf
in December of 2023 and McCallie came out on top finishing 12-1 and were the Division II-AAA
state champions defeating Baylor who was the runner-up and finished 10-3. Baylor is ranked 64 in the poll, while McCallie is at number 76.
Also, MaxPreps listed the best high school football team in every state and Baylor came up with the top nod in that category. In another way too early MaxPreps Top 25 poll for the 2025 high school baseball season has been released and the Baylor Red Raiders who finished 25-8 last spring were in, at number 21.
