Puryear Law Group PLLC has changed its name to Puryear Pippenger & Cook PLLC to reflect the firm’s continued expansion and the leadership of its partners Andrew Pippenger and Charles Cook, according to Dan Puryear, founder. Puryear Pippenger & Cook has offices in Nashville and Chattanooga.
“Our firm’s new name marks a significant milestone in its history as we continue to grow our reach in representing a spectrum of clients in the financial services, real estate, construction and insurance industries,” said Mr. Puryear. “Since joining the firm, Andy and Charlie have been essential to its trajectory, and I am honored that our partnership is now recognized through our new name, Puryear Pippenger & Cook.”
Mr. Pippenger joined Puryear Law Group in 2019 after spending over two decades at Leitner, Williams, Dooly & Napolitan, PLLC. Based in Chattanooga, Mr. Pippenger specializes in litigation, from real estate to contract and property disputes. Among other legal affiliations, he is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and the International Association of Defense Counsel.
“Dan, Charlie and I began our careers at large law firms and have a shared understanding of the benefits of effective collaboration with boutique firms to bring expertise and different perspectives to the table,” said Mr. Pippenger. “I’m honored to partner with Dan and Charlie in continuing to grow our enterprise and provide exceptional representation to our clients in partnership with other legal professionals.”
An industry veteran with over 30 years of legal experience, Mr. Cook joined Puryear Law Group in 2022 after a tenure at Adams and Reese. He primarily represents clients in commercial litigation, bankruptcy matters and commercial loan workouts. Mr. Cook has been named Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year in 2014 for Nashville Banking and Finance Litigation and in 2021 for Nashville Financial Services Regulation Law.

Since establishing his own firm in 2002, Dan Puryear has represented clients in the areas of commercial litigation, commercial collections and judgment recovery, commercial creditors’ rights in bankruptcy and commercial construction litigation. In 2003, the American Board of Certification recognized Mr. Puryear as the youngest attorney in the nation to obtain certification as a specialist in creditors’ rights. A longstanding Executive Committee Member of the Creditors’ Practice Section of the Tennessee Bar Association, Mr. Puryear is also the updating author of a nationwide form book for Thompson Reuters’ West focusing on Debtor-Creditor practice.
Puryear Pippenger & Cook has updated its website and logo to align with the firm’s new name.
