Janet Griffin Tuller of Chattanooga departed this life on September 10, 2024, with her family by her side.

Janet was born Jan. 7, 1943 in Charleston, S.C.

Entering into heaven before her were her parents, William and Janette Griffin; her late husband and father of her children, Bill Tuller, as well as her partner, Sondra Buddy Lee.

Janet attended nursing school and graduated cum laude from St. Mary’s School for Nursing. She went on to earn her master's degree at University of Tennessee Knoxville, while raising her three young children and working full time. She loved her profession and knew it was her calling.

She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2018 and moved to Chattanooga to be near her family for future care. She chose her pathway and made her own decisions on how her health journey would play out. This was a beautiful gift she gave her kids. Her wishes were crystal clear. Our minds and hearts are at ease knowing that.

She is survived by her three children, Mike (Angela) Tuller; Laura Tuller (Michael) Benton, and Jeanne Tuller (Daniel) Hixon; brother, David (Karen) Griffin. To the kids who made her a Mimi…..Ross, Ryan, Daniel, and Ellie. Those children brought her much joy, as she was not just an ordinary grandmother. Her sense of humor and zest for life made her grandchildren the envy of many.

The family would like to thank Morning Pointe Senior Living, The Lantern, and Hearth Hospice for helping with her final journey home.

The family will be having a private gathering, sharing both mass and a meal to reminisce and remember…and make new memories.

We are humbled by your love and support. Please share your thoughts and photos at MimiAndMargaritaWednesdays@gmail.com
