Richard Howard Sadowitz
Richard Howard Sadowitz, M.D. tragically died in a car wreck on I-75 early Tuesday morning, on September 3, 2024, at the age of 65
Richard was the son of Sandy Sadowitz, father of Rebecca, Samuel and Phillip Sadowitz and brother of Marla Truitt. Richard was a highly-regarded gastroenterologist in Chattanooga for 30 years. He was on the board of directors of Orange Grove Centers, where his son Phillip is a client resident.
Richard loved his family, adored his three neurodivergent children, and helped care for his mother with dementia in his home. He along with his fiancé Wendy Drake, enjoyed spending time with family, watching sports, cooking and laughing at the littlest things. Rebecca, Sam and Phil are devastated but appreciate your love and support.
There will be a graveside service at Mizpah Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. (corner of Collins and 3rd Street).
A visitation with the family will be at Mizpah Congregation, 923 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga immediately following graveside service.
The family will have additional visitation and a Shiva Service on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 6 p.m. with a meal to follow at Mizpah Congregation.
