First, some definitions: 

Insurrection: Act of revolting against civil authority or an established government. A violent attempt to overturn an election and prevent a lawfully-elected president from taking office. 

Sedition: Incitement of resistance to or insurrection against lawful authority. 

Crime: Two or more people who conspire to overthrow U.S. government or prevent, hinder or delay the execution of U.S. law by force. 

Second, what did not happen on Monday, January 6, 2025?

1. The President did not send a crowd to the Capitol
2.  No one erected a guillotine on Capitol grounds 
3. 140 police were not injured at the Capitol
4.  Senators and Congresspeople did not fear for their lives
5.  No one sat/on at Speaker Johnson's desk
6. Janitors did not have to remove human waste from the Rotunda floor
7. No one yelled "Hang Mike Pence." 

Third, what did happen January 6, 2025?

1. A coup-inspiring insurrectionist was certified as having won the 2024 presidential election
2. Democracy was weakened in the United States
