Police responded to the area for a motor vehicle crash that resulted in injuries. Upon arrival, they discovered that a man was driving under the influence. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license, and failing to exercise due care. The passenger of the vehicle was advised to call for a ride because the vehicle was being towed. However, due to his level of intoxication and his refusal to call for a ride, police placed him in custody for public intoxication.
Police were dispatched to an assault in progress.
Prior to arrival, the Reporting Party advised they had left the scene and would meet officers at the middle school. Police met with the Victim who stated that she bought a wig from a party. Both party’s accounts of the events did not match, and the victim declined prosecution even if it was discovered an assault had taken place.
Police were dispatched to a property damage call in reference to an employee’s vehicle that had been struck in the parking lot. The owner of the vehicle did not have any documentation or bill of sale present with her as she just purchased the vehicle. A follow-up the next day will be conducted to get the vehicle's information.
Police contacted the RP by phone. She reported that her child’s daycare, located at this address, released the child at 12:30 PM to the father despite her prior instructions prohibiting him from picking up the child. She had been unable to contact the father and is concerned about her daughter’s safety and whereabouts. Officers informed her that, without a custody agreement, ERPD could not enforce custody arrangements. She was advised to seek an emergency custody order through Hamilton County Court if she believes the child is in danger. The woman also stated that the child has regular contact with her father and that he has never harmed her in the past.
Police responded to a call about a male with reddish-blonde hair, a cream-colored hoodie, and black sweatpants attempting to open a woman's car door while screaming at her and striking her vehicle with his fist. The driver of the van stated that she feared for her safety and thought the male party was going to harm her. The male suspect then left in a white sedan with a possible TN tag which is registered to a female party out Chattanooga. Both witnesses stated that a female was driving the vehicle the male suspect got into. Based on this once a positive identification is made on the male party warrants with be sought for Assault.
A party reported to police that her son’s father violated an ex parte Temporary Protective Order when he texted her using a spoofed phone number. The officer contacted the magistrate on duty who subsequently issued a Contempt Petition for the violation. The incident will be reviewed at the upcoming court hearing.
Police received an LPR hit in the 6600 block of Ringgold Road for a vehicle previously involved in a shooting. Officers located the vehicle in the 6400 block of Ringgold Road and observed the vehicle’s tag lights were not illuminating. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle fled onto I-75 North. Police pursued the vehicle on I-75 into Bradley County where the pursuit was terminated. No charges can be sought due to the unconfirmed identification of the driver.
Cleveland PD located the vehicle abandoned in the parking lot of a restaurant in Cleveland. Witnesses described seeing three males jump from the vehicle and run. The unidentified males were carrying backpacks where one possessed a black metallic object (suspected of being a firearm) protruding from the pocket of one bag.
Police responded to a disorder between two people. Due to conflicting accounts and a lack of evidence, police were not able to identify a primary aggressor. Both parties agreed to separate for the night.
A man was taken into protective custody for mental evaluation after experiencing severe symptoms of schizophrenia. He was transported and admitted as a patient at an area hospital.
A man was served by the Tennessee Highway Patrol on a traffic stop in McMinn County on two East Ridge Warrants for Aggravated Robbery and Criminal Conspiracy (Agg. Robbery). He was transported to the McMinn County Jail and a hold was placed on him.
Following a traffic stop at this location for expired registration, a man was detained for a valid Collegedale warrant for Failure to Appear. He was then transported to jail where he was served the warrant.
Officers initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation on a black Hyundai Elantra. The driver was found to have active, extraditable warrants out of Dade County. He was taken to Hamilton Couty Jail.
Officers initiated a traffic stop for an expired registration. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody for DUI.
Police were dispatched to backup EMS for a female patient recently discharged from the hospital who was experiencing chest pain. The patient was transported.
A man requested police perform a wellbeing check for his son who alleged his mother slapped him across the face. Police interviewed all parties involved and ruled out any physical abuse to the juvenile.
An employee called 911 to report an intoxicated party walking around the store. Police investigated the report and discovered a party to be under the influence of narcotics. She was asked to leave the property and released to a responsible individual.
A man was trespassed at the request of hospital staff.
A man was taken into custody at the Hamilton County Jail for an East Ridge warrant for Public Intoxication.
RP requested her house be added to the watch list after she and her children received phone calls from a no-caller ID. The caller claimed to be looking for the RP’s fiancé.
Police responded to an “electronic beam” alarm. All doors and windows were secure.
Officers discovered an open door to the gymnasium at the school. PD cleared the school not locating anyone inside.
A man refused to leave the hospital after being told he had been discharged. Security and nurses repeatedly instructed him that he was discharged and needed to leave the hospital. He was steadfastly uncooperative with officers when they began instructing him to leave. Ultimately Hospital staff requested he be trespassed.
Police assisted Hamilton County EMS with a patient having an emergency who had a history of being aggressive towards EMS personnel. The patient was transported without issue.
A man was arrested for DUI after being found passed out at the red light at the I-75 NB Exit 1 ramp. He initially failed to comply, would not exit the vehicle and began reaching around the passenger compartment. The subject on multiple occasions drove the car forward in small increments. He eventually complied, opened the door, and was removed from the vehicle. The suspect was subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI.
Two intoxicated adults were observed walking on the shoulder of Highway 41. Police detained and verbally warned both parties about the risks of public intoxication. A courtesy ride was provided to the couple’s hotel room.
A party found his wife in their apartment overdosing on an unknown drug. Officers arrived and located the party shaking and unresponsive. EMS transported.
The caller requested to speak to an officer about a child custody matter with her son’s father. She was advised to obtain a court-ordered child custody plan.
A man was arrested on a traffic stop for a valid warrant out of Sessions Court.
Police responded to reports of a car alarm in the parking lot. The officer observed a red Chrysler 300 in front of the business. The driver nervously stated he was just eating a snack in the parking lot and accidentally hit the panic button on his key fob. The subject cooperated for a field interview, consented to a search and was negative for warrants.
Police were dispatched after an emergency 911 call was received without answer. Multiple callbacks were attempted but the line was open. Officers contacted the resident who appeared to have been sleeping and stated there was no emergency.
East Ridge Police stood by while East Ridge Fire tended to a stove fire.
An employee requested police check on an elderly gentleman after he confided in them that he was dropped off four hours earlier and had no way of getting back home. He was given a courtesy ride.
Police responded to this address due to a crash with injuries. Officers observed a male was laying on the roadway next to his motorcycle. He complained of a head injury and was unable to move his legs. Witnesses told police they saw a tan Chevy Tahoe rear end bond while he was on his bike. The driver of the SUV left the scene. Another witness stated he followed the SUV to an apartment complex. Police responded to the location and located the vehicle and the driver. He was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Police assisted ERFD in caring for an unconscious female at this residence.
Residents at this address got into an argument regarding a former resident attempting to pick up personal belongings. Each party gave conflicting stories. The former tenant was advised to call ERPD non-emergency to set up a disorder prevention when she is ready to pick up the remaining items.
Police spoke with the reporting party who stated she had handed the keys to an unknown male subject who asked to see a vehicle that was being sold at her store. She was not able to walk outside with the subject because she was with customers. The male subject entered the vehicle and drove away. The vehicle is a 2008 Toyota Sienna, silver in color and did not have a tag attached to it at the time of the theft. At this time, no suspect has been identified.
Police spoke with the complainant who stated a female female enter the store and conceal two Similac baby formula containers on her person. She was later seen leaving one container but kept one concealed while leaving the store. The amount stolen by the subject was $35.98 and the total concealed amount was $71.96. No suspect has been identified at this time.
Police responded to a disorder involving an unruly customer. The suspect left prior to police arrival. Later in the evening, police located a man and determined he was the unruly subject. He was given a Criminal Trespass Warning at the request of management.
Police responded to a disorder at this address. Each person accused the other of simple assault. Officers did not observe any signs of injuries. Police also determined the argument started over lost property. The parties agreed to separate for the night. Police also spoke to the homeowner who stated this was an on-going issue with the two subjects.
Police observed an unoccupied Volkswagen sedan idling in the parking lot of the motel. An officer approached the vehicle and observed narcotics with drug paraphernalia in plain view. The vehicle owner was located and was provided verbal commands to stop in both English and Spanish. The suspect failed to comply and resisted when police took him into custody. The suspect was identified charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Public Intoxication, and Resisting Arrest.
A local resident reported a black sedan, occupied by two males, fired an air gun at his SUV. Later in the evening, police located the black sedan at a residence on Laredo Avenue and determined it was occupied by two juveniles at the time of the incident. Officers contacted the owner of the suspect vehicle and mother of the driver. She stated she would handle the situation, and it would not happen again. The SUV owner declined to seek charges against the juveniles and there was no significant damage to his vehicle.
Staff reported that an individual had been in the store for over an hour, had not purchased anything, and refused to leave. Police responded to the business and identified the subject. He was issued a Criminal Trespass warning, and he agreed to leave the area.
Following a traffic stop, a party was arrested for Driving on a Revoked License for DUI.
Police responded to an Unknown Trouble and located a juvenile walking in the roadway. The juvenile reported a verbal disorder with his mother and her boyfriend. The mom confirmed the verbal argument. Police spoke with everyone on scene, and the juvenile agreed to go home for the evening.
Following a traffic stop, a man was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant through the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. The original charge for the arrest warrant was Simple Assault. He was transported to the Hamilton County Detention Center without incident.
Police observed a decorative tree destroyed in the median of the roadway. Tire tracks next to the tree suggested a vehicle crash that had not been reported. Officers notified the appropriate agency for the repair and replacement.
