The Lee University lacrosse team allowed Young Harris College to score five goals in the fourth quarter and steal a 13-11 on Wednesday evening. After leading by as many as four goals, Lee allowed the Mountain Lions to score four goals up a player to complete the comeback. With the loss, Lee fell to 1-3 on the season.
Lee had 11 cards in the loss with five being yellow and six being green. That led to six goals from YHC being a man up. Lee committed 24 fouls to 22 for YHC. Lee also turned the ball over 33 times in the loss.
YHC had 20 turnovers.
The Mountain Lions took 40 shots to only 21 for the Lady Flames. Savannah Weisman kept the Lady Flames in the game again with 16 saves in 54 minutes of action. YHC used three different goalkeepers and they combined for just two saves.
Katelyn Sweeney had three goals on six shots to pace Lee. Hannah Vecsey, Noelle Harrington, and Lily Tomczik each had two goals while Callie Curtis and Taylor McGovern had one. Vecsey also added three assists. Riley Parker had four goals to lead Young Harris.
The Lady Flames next game will on Saturday, March 1 as they will take on the defending national champions, the University of Tampa. First draw is scheduled for 12 PM.
