Bouncing back from just their third loss of the season Monday to No. 8-ranked Oak Ridge, sixth-ranked Walker Valley notched its 22nd win Tuesday evening, in Chattanooga.
Despite being minus one of their sharpshooters, the Mustangs galloped past Chattanooga Christian School 75-48, while the Lady Mustangs got doubled up by the third-ranked (DII-AA) Lady Chargers 68-34.
Walker Valley will return to District 5-4A action Friday as Rhea County comes to "The Stable."
MUSTANGS 75, CHARGERS 48: Even with junior standout Turner Clayton, who is averaging 16 points a game unavailable, Walker Valley cruised past CCS (2-15), burst out of the gate for a 25-9 edge at the first horn.
The Herd pulled away even more in the second period with a 20-11 streak to take a 25-point lead into the locker rooms at the half.
With Coach Will Campbell's Stallions cooling off in the third quarter, hitting just 5-of-19 shots, the Chargers took advantage to trim five points off the deficit.
The Mustang bench finished off the victory with an 18-11 run, including Michael Wood netting 13 of his team-tying high point mark of 15, including going 6-for-6 at the charity stripe and drilling a shot from distance.
Senior Landon Shirk also sizzled the strings for 15 points, all coming on five shots from "downtown."
In just his third game back from sitting out a month with an injury, junior Ashton Davis helped out with 13 points, hitting 5-of-7 from two-point land and 1-of-2 from long range.
Wyatt Keeton came off the bench for 10 points, while Isaac Sausville dropped in a half dozen during the opening run.

Haden Lyons led the way for CCS, netting a game-high 16, while Jack Fox helped out with 13 markers.
LADY CHARGERS 68, LADY MUSTANGS 34: Led by 2024 Miss Tennessee Finalist MoMo Moore's 18 points, 12 of which came before halftime, CCS (16-7) electrified the home crowd with an 18-6 edge at the first buzzer, which turned into a 43-16 halftime advantage.
