Honors Choral Festival For High Schoolers Wraps Up With Sacred Concert

  • Friday, February 7, 2025

Southern Adventist University’s School of Music will host the Honors Choir Festival Concert on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 4 p.m. in Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists on campus.

Directed by Southern alum Jeffrey Dean, ’18, eight high school choirs will present a varied program for the concluding concert of the four-day event.

With a passion for sacred music, Mr. Dean leads an active musical life as a classroom teacher, conductor, cantor, and bass-baritone soloist. He currently heads up the choral program at Ooltewah Middle School, just a mile down the road from Southern where he earned a bachelor’s degree in music education. He also pursued a Master of Sacred Music degree in conducting from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

This free concert is open to the public. Visit southern.edu/musicevents for livestream options and additional information.
