Ladies of Lee
Lee University’s Ladies of Lee, directed by Dr. Cameron Weatherford, will present its spring concert “I Count It All Joy” on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in The Lee University Chapel.
“This program has been a special part of our year as it has defined our conversations in rehearsals,” said Dr. Weatherford, assistant professor of choral music. “The theme verse out of the book of James has provided us with healthy yet challenging discussions about trials and struggles we are all facing and how we are trying to discover joy in the midst of them. It is our hope that this program encourages everyone to seek joy through the work of the Holy Spirit in the midst of their trials and enemies.”
The concert will feature songs in multiple languages with various instrumentation, accompaniments, and styles including “I Count It All Joy,” “I Thank You God,” “All My Trials,” and a new arrangement, specifically arranged for the Ladies of Lee, of “It Is Well With My Soul.”
The Ladies of Lee consists of 48 women from a variety of undergraduate programs. Along with conducting Ladies of Lee, Weatherford also conducts Choral Union and teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in choral music and conducting.
This concert is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
