Central High School announced that longtime educator and coach, Glen Carter, has accepted the position of head football coach for the Chattanooga Central High School football program.
Mr. Carter, who has been a dedicated teacher at Central High School since 2005, has also served as assistant football coach and head baseball coach for two decades, from 2005 to 2024.
He took on the role of interim head coach in September 2024 and quickly made an impact, leading the team to the second round of regional playoffs and reinforcing a strong culture of discipline, teamwork, and excellence.
His leadership, experience, and commitment to Central High School athletics have earned him the respect of students, players, and the community.
“I’m incredibly proud of what our team accomplished this past season and excited for the bright future ahead for Central High School football,” said Dr. LeAngela Rogers, CHS principal. "Coach Carter’s ability to inspire and develop young athletes, both on and off the field, has been instrumental in our recent success. We are excited about the bright future ahead under his leadership."
Central High School administration, Chattanooga Central High School Alumni Association and athletic department officials commend Carter’s dedication and leadership and are eager to support his vision for the program.
Central High School would like to invite students, athletes (past and present), families, staff, CHS Alumni and the community to welcome Coach Carter on Thursday, April 10, at 3 p.m. in the Central High School Library.
