Mocs Beach Volleyball Duo Named OVS Co-Pair Of The Week

  • Tuesday, March 25, 2025
The Chattanooga beach volleyball duo of Neva Clark and Corina Vale were honored this week, as the pair was announced as the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Pair of the Week, the league office revealed on Tuesday.

Clark and Vale finished with an unblemished 4-0 record this past weekend at the OVC Weekend in Martin whilst playing in the team’s No. 1 position. Not only that, but the duo helped lead the Mocs to four team wins at the conference-opening weekend, three of which were team sweep wins, helping to now have Chattanooga sit atop the OVC standings in sole possession of first place.

This is the second time this season that a UTC pair has been honored with a weekly award by the conference this season.
Back on March 11, McKenna Faychak and Maddie Lecik received Pair of the Week honors, marking the first Chattanooga duo to receive the honor in 2025. This week’s OVC Pair of the Week honor has been split into a co-pair award between UTC’s pair of Clark and Vale and UT Martin’s Kayla Bryant and Olivia O’Keefe.

Across Clark and Vale’s four conference matchups this past weekend, the duo not only went undefeated by only dropping a single set with the other three matches resulting in 2-0 sweeps for the senior-sophomore combo.

The UTC pair opened the weekend with their tightest result, going three sets in their Court 1 match against Tennessee Tech before pulling off the 21-17, 19-21, 15-12 victory. The duo then proceeded to put together their most dominant match of the weekend immediately following their TTU match as the Mocs took on Lindenwood in a rematch of the 2024 OVC Tournament title match. Clark and Vale steamrolled their opposition, downing the Lions with commanding 21-7, 21-9 set wins. The win also served as the clinching blow in UTC’s eventual 4-1 team win over Lindenwood overall.

Clark and Vale then closed out their weekend on Saturday with a pair of easily managed sweeps against Eastern Illinois and Morehead State. The pair started against EIU, claiming a 21-15, 21-10 victory on Court 1 before going to find a similar result against MSU with a 21-14, 21-13 win to cap off the weekend.

As a pair in 2025, Clark and Vale currently hold an impressive record of 11-5 with the duo playing all of their matches in the No. 1 slot for the Mocs.

Clark, Vale and the rest of the Chattanooga beach volleyball squad will be home this Saturday, March 29 for the team’s first and only home regular season tournament of the year. The Mocs are set to welcome UT Martin and Tusculum to the UTC Sports Complex with Saturday’s festivities set to begin at 11 a.m. ET.
