The Salvation Army Of Cleveland To Host 3-Day Easter Revival Series April 16–18

  • Monday, April 14, 2025
The Salvation Army of Cleveland is inviting the community to a three-day series of Easter events designed to celebrate the hope, unity and sacrificial love at the heart of the Gospel message. Held from Wednesday through Friday, this revival will feature outreach, fellowship and worship experiences that meet people where they are—whether in a local park, around a shared table or within a sacred chapel.

April 16 – Family Outreach in the Park
Theme: New Life for All Ages
- Deer Park, 475 17th St.
NW in Cleveland
- 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The revival kicks off with a Family Night Outreach at Deer Park. This free, family-friendly event is designed to bless and engage local families, especially those who may not regularly attend church. Highlights include:
• A free cookout with hot dogs, chips and drinks;
• A community Easter egg hunt for children of all ages;
• Craft stations with meaningful Easter-themed keepsakes; and
• A short, family-focused skit or devotional about the resurrection.
“This event is about sharing God’s love in a joyful, approachable way,” said Sgt. Ruth Forgey, corps administrator for The Salvation Army in Cleveland. “We want families to feel welcomed, encouraged and introduced to the hope of Easter.”

April 17 – Ecumenical Seder Meal
Theme: The Table of Unity and Remembrance
- Grace Community Church, 4745 Mouse Creek Road NW in Cleveland
- 6:30 p.m
On Maundy Thursday, all are invited to an Ecumenical Seder Meal hosted at Grace Community Church. This traditional Passover meal will include a full dinner and Christian reflections highlighting Christ as our Passover Lamb. Guests from across denominations will be guided through the symbolic elements of the Seder while enjoying fellowship and meaningful scripture readings.
“This evening reminds us that while our traditions may differ, our unity in Christ is greater,” said Sgt. Forgey. “We remember the Exodus, the Last Supper and the promise of salvation—together.”

April 18 – Good Friday Service
Theme: The Cross: Love’s Greatest Sacrifice
- The Salvation Army Chapel, 437 Inman St. W. in Cleveland
- 6 p.m.
The revival concludes with a solemn Good Friday service at The Salvation Army Chapel. This reflective gathering will include:
• Passion Week scripture readings;
• Worship music that prepares hearts for Easter;
• A message centered on Christ’s sacrificial love; and
• Time for prayer and personal reflection.
“This is the night we pause to remember the depth of Jesus’ love for us,” said Sgt. Forgey. “It’s a powerful lead-up to Resurrection Sunday.”

"One revival—three powerful nights," officials said. "From joyful outreach to meaningful reflection, this three-day journey is designed to touch hearts and point people to the true meaning of Easter. All events are free and open to the public.

"The Salvation Army of Cleveland invites your participation, prayers and presence as we celebrate the risen Christ and seek to make this Easter Week a time of revival, relationship-building and rejoicing."
