Man Assaults His Sister And Ex Girlfriend With Knife - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

25-003862- 6921 Glen Errol Way – Aggravated Domestic Assault
A man was arrested after his sister and child’s mother called police to report he had assaulted them on the previous evening and into the early morning hours. The victims reported that the suspect retrieved a serrated knife and a file and would poke them with it, leaving small cuts on their arms. One also alleged that during one of the assaults, her infant child was next to her, and he had commented about stabbing the child. Both claimed they were able to flee the residence after the suspect became tired from his tirade and fell asleep. Officers contacted the suspect at the residence and placed him into custody without issue, until he was placed into the back of the patrol vehicle where he began banging his head on the window. He was then transported to Hamilton County Jail and booked on the charges.

Day Shift April 11: B Team

25-003797 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Rd– SIA/Auto Recovery
Police completed a follow up at the above address related to the recovery of a stolen vehicle out of North Carolina.

25-003804-3600 BLK Ringgold Road- Miscellaneous
A man reported that an unknown individual had gained access to his room and stole his wallet. Shortly after officers left the scene, the reporting party called back in stating he had found his wallet in his vehicle.

No Case Number – 3200 BLK Castle Avenue- Property
Police were notified of a damaged fire hydrant, and a small leak was observed on the right side of the hydrant. The Water Company was notified and were advised to call in if they needed a report for the damage.

25-003805 – 5300 BLK Clemons Rd – Suicidal threats
Police responded to this location- as a secondary location- for a female experiencing a mental health crisis. Police were able to detain the female without incident and transport her for an evaluation.

25-003810 – 1500 BLK Keeble Street – Auto Theft
The resident called ERPD to report his automobile stolen. He doesn’t know who took it but had last seen his vehicle yesterday when he came home. Dispatch received an alert that Chattanooga PD responded to a call the night prior because the vehicle was involved in a MVC and was totaled. ERPD was unable to reach the owner by phone or from his residence. The vehicle is safely at the tow yard.

25-003813-Ringgold Road/Kingwood Circle-Check Hazard
Police checked the intersection of Ringgold Road and Kingwood Circle for a malfunctioning traffic light. All lights at the intersection appeared to function properly.

25-003815 – Ringgold Rd @ Sewanee Rd – SIA
Police got out with a male subject riding a standup scooter with no helmet. The man was advised that a helmet is required to operate the scooter. He said his helmet is being shipped through the mail and he should have it by the beginning of the week.

25-003818 – 6000 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop/Assist Other Agency
A woman was detained for a warrant through the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office following a traffic stop at this location, where she was a passenger in her own vehicle. She submitted her identification for verification after it was discovered the driver of her vehicle had a suspended driver’s license. Upon verifying her information, it was found she had a valid warrant through HCSO
for False Reports. She was detained and transported to Hamilton County Jail for HCSO.

25-003820 – 3600 BLK Maiden Dr – Theft
A party reported ongoing theft and unauthorized entry into her room by her roommate, despite having installed a door lock. She stated that items continue to go missing and her roommate has posted photos wearing the stolen items on social media. Security camera footage shows the roommate and others entering her room without permission, including one instance of someone
sleeping in her bed. The victim is compiling a list of the stolen items.

25-003823 – 1700 BLK Keeble Street – Suspicious Person
Police responded after a customer reported a male was on the property asking customers for money. At the request of the shop owner, the man was advised to relocate.

25-003826 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Rd– Disorder
Officers responded to this location in reference to a reported disorder. Upon arrival, they contacted a female who was found to have an active warrant out of Hamilton County Sessions Court for Theft of Property. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to Hamilton County Jail and advised of a trespass warning for this location.

Night Shift April 11: D Team

25-003827 – 4300 BLK Lazard Street – Civil Matter
A party had a dispute with her neighbor after he parked his truck in her yard. Police advised the resident of her right to tow the vehicles parked in her yard.

25-003828-3900 BLK Ringgold Road- Deceptive Practice
A party was advised to come to this location to deposit $2500 in cash into a kiosk. She was on the phone with a “Lieutenant” from Chattanooga who stated she did not show up for jury duty. The woman was advised not to put money into a kiosk. The “ Officer” advised her to go to the Chattanooga Police Station. After she left, it was discovered that the name given was not by anyone with the Chattanooga Police Department. Officers contacted her back with the updated information and advised her of the scam tactic.

25-003833 – 5700 BLK Roper Street – Narcotics Violation
A tenant called the non-emergency line to complain about the smell of marijuana coming into their apartment from a neighbor. Police located the source and asked the occupants to cease using THC in the building or else they would receive criminal charges.

25-003837 – Camp Jordan Road @ Camp Jordan Parkway – Traffic Stop/Arrest
Following a traffic stop at the above location, a man was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail to face two warrants issued through the criminal court.

25-003840-Castle Ave/ Dunlap Ave- Shots Fired
The caller reported hearing several shots in the area. Officers located five shell casings in the roadway. A witness advised that after hearing the shots, she looked out of her window and saw a dark SUV speed off southbound on Dunlap.

25-003843 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity
A female caller reported hearing a tapping on her window and suspected a prowler. Police checked the area but did not locate anyone in the vicinity.

25-003844 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service
A man was served East Ridge warrants for Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Robbery while in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.

Day Shift April 12: B Team

25-003862- 6900 BLK Glen Errol Way- Warrant Service
While performing an identification verification through NCIC, it was discovered that the woman had multiple felony warrants for Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Hijacking a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during a Felony, and Kidnapping with nationwide pick-up out of
Atlanta. The fugitive was detained by officers and transported to Hamilton County Jail on a hold for the Atlanta Police Department.

25-003863 – 4300 BLK Greenbriar Road – Disorder
A party claimed she came to her children’s father’s residence to collect some mail. While waiting in the residence, his sister approached her in an aggressive manner causing her to retreat from the home. The complainant requested police speak with the homeowner to inquire about any other
property left by her in the house and she advised there was nothing else in the home. Police advised the complainant of this and that she was trespassed from the property, which she claimed she understood. The alleged had left the residence prior to police arrival, but upon verifying her information, it was discovered she had several warrants through HCSO for narcotics violations.

25-003864-4214 Ringgold Road-Warrant Service
Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Deputies contacted an individual who had a verified extraditable warrant through East Ridge. A hold was sent over to Whitfield County jail and the suspect was taken into custody without issue.

25-003866 – 300 BLK Michelle Avenue – Disorder
A concerned citizen reported a blue Chrysler PT Cruiser was following a
female down the road with a party exiting the vehicle and standing in the
roadway with the woman. On arrival, police located the parties involved at
this address and discovered it was a verbal disorder between friends.

Night Shift April 12: D Team

25-003877 – 1500 BLK Tombras Avenue – Suspicious Person
A concerned parent called the police to report a suspicious-looking party. Police interviewed the party described by the complainant and identified him as a parent of three children who were all present at the park.

25-003881 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Road – Intoxicated Person
A man was arrested for Public Intoxication after repeatedly attempting to purchase beer after being refused service for being drunk. He also propositioned customers in the parking lot to buy beer for him.

25-003882 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop/ DUI
A man was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop. While in custody at the police station, the man moved his cuffs to the front and then attempted to put his hand through the crack in the cage and manipulate the door. He then proceeded to slip his cuffs. The man was charged with driving under the Influence and escape.

25-003884 – 1400 BLK Mana Lane – Noise Complaint
An anonymous caller reported hearing loud bass music from a vehicle in the neighborhood. Police drove through the area and did not observe excessive noise.

25-003888 – 5900 BLK Wentworth Avenue – Mentally Disturbed
A man was taken into custody for Hamilton County warrants after he experienced a mental disturbance and called 91. He reported he was being chased by three or four individuals who he stated were trying to rob him. Officers were in the area moments after being dispatched and did not
find any suspects or any disturbance to the residence.

25-003889-3000 BLK Ringgold Road- Traffic Stop/DUI
A man was arrested for suspicion of DUI following a traffic stop. He was transported to 601 Justice Way without incident.

Day Shift April 13: B Team

No Case Number – 4214 Ringgold Rd – Warrant Service
Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office contacted ERPD to send a hold for a wanted subject. The hold paperwork was sent over awaiting pick up of the suspect.

25-003900 – 1000 BLK Bass Pro Drive- Theft in progress
Officers responded to the above address for theft in progress. A Loss Prevention Associate advised that two male juveniles were observed opening a 30-round 9mm magazine and concealing it in a hoodie. Officers located the suspects inside the store; one was detained, while the other fled on foot and was apprehended across Camp Jordan Parkway. A search recovered the stolen magazine and (10) 9mm rounds. One juvenile was released to a guardian, and the other was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with Theft (Shoplifting) and Evading Arrest.

25-003901-5500 BLK Ringgold Road-Disorder
The store manager reported to Police that a male entered the store and made threats towards him after a verbal disagreement over a spark plug. Other employees witnessed the suspect threaten the manager. A warrant for assault will be sought when the suspect can be identified.

Night Shift April 13: D Team

25-003910 – 4300 BLK Duval Street – Suspicious Person
A resident complained that a male was walking down Tombras Avenue when he shouted derogatory comments at her husband for taking out his trash and checking his mail at night. Police agreed to provide additional patrols in the area and advised the residents to call back if the problem continued or escalated.

25-003913 – 3100 BLK Bimini Place– Shots fired
Officers received a call regarding shots fired. The caller stated that he heard approximately three shots outside his apartment. Officers located two shell casings and two live rounds on the ground. A juvenile came out of an apartment and stated he did not hear any shots. Another caller stated that she witnessed the incident, and the police were speaking with one of the suspects while the other was inside the apartment. Officers obtained a search warrant on the property and located ammo and a firearm magazine but no firearm.

25-003915-5700 BLK Ringgold Rd-Disorder
Police responded about a male who was refusing to exit the shuttle due to not being dropped off where he requested. Upon police arrival, the male exited and was given a courtesy ride.

Day Shift April 14: A Team

25-003916 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity
A woman reported an unknown white male stared her down in the parking lot before approaching her on foot while she was at the gas pump. She questioned the man on what he needed, and he replied, “I’m trying to...,” but never finished his sentence. She allegedly confronted the man on having ill intentions, prompting him to speed out of the parking lot. The woman asked for a report to be completed out of fear it was an attempted kidnapping though police found no evidence corroborating any crime.

25-003923 – 10 BLK Frawley Road – Suspicious Activity
A resident requested a report after an unknown subject left trash in the roadway near his residence. It was discovered the trash was on the curb, away from the man’s property. East Ridge Sanitation was contacted and asked to remove the trash.

25-003918 – 5700 BLK Roper Street – Disorder
Police were called after a woman’s adult son refused to leave the apartment while she sought medical treatment at a local hospital. The man told police he was a tenant but not on the lease. The reporting party collected a few of her son’s items and he left. Police advised the man to contact the leasing office for information regarding his residency.

25-003919 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road - Suspicious Activity-
Police were called to the bank after a former client entered the building to request information regarding her account. Employees told officers that the bank did not wish to do business with the party and wanted her trespassed from the property. Police gave the woman a courtesy ride to a Church and then to her residence. She was given notice the bank does not want her on the
property.

25-003928 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Deceptive Practice-
Police responded to the ERPD Lobby to speak with a party who stated she received a letter and check in the mail from an unknown sender. The letter contained instructions to cash the $2950 check, retain $500, and use the remaining money to purchase gift cards. This is a common scam utilizing fraudulent checks.

No Case Number- 2000 BLK Prigmore Rd.- Suspicious Vehicle
Police responded to this address after a neighbor called about a van parked underneath the car port. Officers observed a male and a female inside the vehicle. The occupant advised they were given permission to sleep at the residence by his sister. Police checked both parties for warrants and sent
them on their way.

25-003921- 2100 BLK Dugan St.- Suspicious Activity
Police responded to this address after a neighbor called about people trying to enter the residence. An officer spoke with the parties who had just been evicted and were gathering their belongings off the property. Police were provided a video showing the female trying to enter a door code to gain entry to the residence. Police warned the parties not to attempt entry into the home and wait for their moving truck to arrive. The parties had been served eviction papers earlier in the day.

No case number- 700 BLK Summit Ave- Assist other agency
Police were contacted by Chattanooga police regarding a harassment that took place at this residence. The suspect was located and taken into custody by Chattanooga police and transported to Hamilton County jail.

Night Shift April 14: C Team

25-003939 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person / Arrest
Police observed a woman littering in the parking lot. When confronted, she attempted to flee from the police and ran into a hotel room. She was detained and began cooperating with officers. She was issued misdemeanor citations for Resisting Stop, Halt, Frisk, Arrest and Littering.

25-003942 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft of Property
The caller stated that she and her daughter left several items outside of the hotel while they walked their cat. During this time frame, an unknown suspect took $3000 worth of personal items and luggage. No suspect information was available, and police were unable to locate security camera footage for the incident.

25-003946 – 700 BLK Tanager Court – Disorder / Arrest / Assist Other Agency –
Police responded to a Domestic Disorder at this residence. Officers found a man attempting to conceal himself in a bathroom with nine grams of methamphetamine. He was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine. Police also located a woman attempting to conceal herself
under a pile of clothes in the garage. She was taken into custody for an active warrant through the Hamilton County Sessions court. Both were transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

25-003949 – 6400 BLK Ringgold Road – Found Property
Police observed a large blue bag filled with clothing in the middle of Ringgold Road. The bag was secured and placed into the ERPD Property and Evidence for safekeeping. A short time later, a party reported a bag of her laundry was missing. Officers confirmed the bag belonged to her and she
planned to pick it up during normal business hours at the Police Department.

25-003952 – 4400 BLK Bennett Road – Missing Juvenile Found –
Police responded to a Missing Juvenile complaint at this residence. Officers spoke with the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office and found the juvenile was incarcerated at their jail. The caller was asked to contact the Catoosa County Jail for more information.

25-003955 – 1400 BLK St. Thomas Street – Assist Other Agency
The Chattanooga Police Department requested assistance in locating a missing phone. The phone last located near the 1400 block of ST Thomas Street. Police checked the area and spoke with two individuals, but the phone was not located.
