Faithful Member Of Her Church And Had A Patient Spirit

Mother Blanche Rentz Bobo was born on Friday, April 29, 1932, to the late Professor “Fess” Rentz and Essie Mae Owens Rentz in Lake City, Fl. The Lord called His faithful servant home on March 27, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Reverend William Bobo; son and daughter-in law, Lorenzo and Judith McDougle; brothers, Mansfield Rentz, James Rentz, McKinley Rentz, and Lonnie Rentz; sisters, Alfreda Rentz, Beula Parker, and Lelia Johnson; great grandson, Jametric Facyson.

Mother Bobo confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a faithful member and mother at Hawkinsville Baptist Church for many years. She united with Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church in 1999 and remained an active and faithful member until relocating to Maryland. While at Orchard Knob, her commitment to service was noted in the Mission Ministry, Church School, Mothers’ Board, Prayer Warriors, and she was a regular Bible Study attendee. Mother Bobo started the Hospital Ministry where she and other saints visited Memorial Hospital monthly and served food to families in the ICU waiting lounge.

Mother Bobo was a house mother for 27 years at the Tennessee Baptist Min-Tom Children’s Home. She will always be remembered for her patient spirit and generous love for the children, even after retiring.

She leaves to cherish precious memories and celebrate her life: daughter, Vanessa Lofton; four grandchildren, Donte Jr. (Tierra) Lofton; Demetrius Lofton, Nikitas McDougle, and Lorenzo McDougle, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Paris McDougle, Jamarion Ellis, and Alaya Lofton; sister, Julia Coffee; brothers, Fess (Janie) Rentz and Augusta (Annette) Rentz; godson, William (Diane) Clemons; son-in love, Donte Lofton, Sr.; a host of special and supportive in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and great friends.

Public viewing will begin at 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 11, at Orchard Knob Baptist Church, 1734 East Third Street.

Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with gate time at 12:30 p.m.
