Several Students Participate In CSCC Welding Bootcamp At Raider Blue Academy

Cleveland State Community College Workforce Development recently partnered with City Fields to provide a MIG Welding Bootcamp for Cleveland High School Raider Blue Academy students. Three students completed the bootcamp and two earned an American Welding Society (AWS) certification. The class was provided at Cleveland High School with funding by City Fields.

Dr. Eric Garner, CHS Assistant Principal - RBA, said, “The partnership between Cleveland High School, City Fields and Cleveland State Community College gave Raider Blue Academy students access to a welding certification program that not only provided valuable technical skills but also increased their confidence and future career opportunities.
Thanks to City Fields’ and Cleveland State’s support, students who might not otherwise have had this chance were able to earn industry-recognized credentials, empowering them to envision a more stable and fulfilling path after graduation. CHS/RBA look forward to the opportunity of continuing our partnership with Cleveland State and City Fields to expand the program to more students in the future.”

“I am thrilled to see the positive impact this partnership has had on Cleveland High School students,” said Bre LaMountain, CSCC Organizational and Workforce Development manager. “Our goal is to provide accessible, high-quality training that equips students with practical skills and industry-recognized credentials. Watching these students gain confidence and achieve AWS certification has been incredibly rewarding. We are grateful for the support from City Fields and Cleveland High School, and we look forward to expanding opportunities like this to even more students in the future.”
