Mr. Virgil Lee “Bud” Hewitt, age 90, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday morning, June 11, 2025.

Bud was born October 27, 1934, in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Farris Lee and Dessie Duvall Hewitt. He was a 1953 graduate of Valley Point High School, where he was a standout basketball player. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Merrell Hewitt; beloved daughter, Glenda Beth Hewitt, both of Dalton, GA; along with many other cherished relatives and friends.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal visitation or services. Memorials may be made to Five Springs Methodist Church, 112 Cox Rd., Dalton, GA 30720.

His memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
