Lee's Brew Adds Kaczor To Baseball Coaching Staff

  • Tuesday, June 17, 2025
Lee University head baseball coach Mark Brew has added a former player and coach to his staff. Micah Kaczor pitched in the Colorado Rockies organization for four years and has spent the past three years coaching at the collegiate level.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to be joining coach Brew’s staff! His track record of success and player development speaks for itself,” said Kaczor. “The facilities and equipment accessible for us to develop our players are second to none.
The staff and university are right on cue with my core beliefs on and off the field. I cannot wait to get to work alongside all of them and continue to learn and grow.

“Lee itself is very intriguing to myself and my family being from Tennessee,” he added. “I was fortunate enough to have been recruited by coach Brew when I was a former player. The community and university have a sense of home for us, and we are excited to call Cleveland home.”

“The GSC has a proven history of success with a multitude of teams being competitive year in and year out. I am looking forward to competing and adding to the success of our program and conference.”

Born in Logan, Utah, Kaczor spent one year of high school in Jacksonville, Fla. before spending his last prep seasons in Tennessee at Ravenwood High (Brentwood).

He began his college career for one year at Westen Kentucky University and moved on to St. Petersburg College earning an associate’s degree in arts. Next came East Tennessee State University for his last two years where he earned his major in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Kaczor left his mark in prep play and college. In high school he was All-State and the Region 6 Pitcher of the Year. He was First Team All-Southern Conference at ETSU and named National Pitcher of Week twice. He has the second-lowest season ERA in ETSU history and was a part of the top three pitching staff in ESTU history.

The new Lee assistant established his share of coaching marks in his young career at ETSU and King University. In 2025 at King his pitchers had the 4th most strikeouts in a single season; posted wins over the No.4 and No.8 teams in D2 (University of North Georgia & Young Harris College ); and had a freshman pitcher who ranked in the top 15 in conference ERA, innings pitched, and batting average against. At ETSU in 2024 his hurlers were 2nd in the most strikeouts (456) in the program’s rich history, and had pitchers receive All-SoCon honors.

“Micah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience on the collegiate and professional side to our pitching staff,” remarked Coach Brew. “He is familiar with our recruiting base having spent time at ETSU and at King. He will bring a development and competitive mindset that will allow our pitchers to be challenged daily.

“Micah has already hit the ground running, building relationships with our current team and incoming recruits. I am excited to see our pitchers’ growth under his leadership. He fits the culture of our program and Lee University well. We are excited to welcome Micah, wife Alexis, and daughter Mabel to the Lee family.”
