Metro Dalton Unemployment Rate Holds Steady In May

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the two-county Dalton Metropolitan Statistical Area recorded an unemployment rate of 3.2% in May, unchanged from the previous month. A year ago, the rate was 3.5%. "Georgia's strength isn't measured in single months — it's proven over time," said Georgia Labor Commissioner Bárbara Rivera Holmes. New Chatt311 Has Many Flaws

Its apparent to me that the new Chatt311 system has many flaws. You can't speak to a live person and any services you request take multiple weeks if not months to be reviewed, approved and completed. I opened a brush collection request on June 12. It was abruptly closed on June 25. The reason was "due to an error in the 311 Application, the request didn't include a zip code. What? Lookouts Split Sunday Doubleheader

After back to back rainouts on Friday and Saturday the Chattanooga Lookouts split their doubleheader with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Sunday to conclude the series. Pensacola took four out of five games in the rain shortened series. After a few poor pitching performances in a row starter Kevin Abel and reliever Trevor Kuncl combined to allow only two hits and one run in game one.
