Free Gardening Workshop Set For Aug. 11

A free gardening workshop will take place on Monday, Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the South Bay Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4605 Redlands Dr. Allan Kennedy, who has been gardening since age five and has operated a 14-acre commercial blackberry farm, will present information on how to grow high nutrient dense food, with large yields and limited garden space. Our children are addicted to their cell phones. I don’t blame the kids, I would be the same way, probably worse. The Bradley County Schools have a new cell phone policy: ban the cell, bell to bell. If you’re in class, no cell phone. Hamilton County Schools should follow the courageous lead of our sister city. Every week for most of this Major League Baseball season, there’s been a growing opinion that it can’t get any worse for the Atlanta Braves. Injuries, prolonged hitting slumps and shoddy pitching long ago derailed a once-promising season.
