Some City Council Members Balk At Large Tax Increase; Kelly Recommends 44-Cent Rise

Some City Council members at a Tuesday morning budget hearing indicated they are balking at a large property tax increase and want to continue looking for reductions from the current budget. However, all council members indicated they want the final budget to include a sizable pay increase for police and firefighters. Lookouts Smoked In Series Opener

The Chattanooga Lookouts started their six game series in Knoxville against the Smokies and found themselves down 11-0 after only two innings. Starting pitcher Jared Lyons had a performance to forget, lasting just an inning and two thirds and allowing six earned runs. Reliever Easton Sikorski certainly couldn't stop the bleeding allowing the next five runs in only two thirds of an inning.
