Dear School Board members and County Commissioners: I am a parent of school-aged children in District 2. I appreciate all school district leaders, school board members, and county officials who have thoughtfully considered the proposed budget for the 2025-2026 school year. That said, I would like to see more joint efforts taken by our county commissioners, along with HCS leaders and the school board, so we may confidently step into the years ahead. We all know to expect the unexpected when district tournaments begin. That was surely the case at Soddy Daisy’s Tom Higgins Field Wednesday afternoon where the District 6-AAA baseball tournament got underway with the first game in the Best of Three series for the semifinals. The first game featured the Signal Mountain Eagles, a team seeded second coming in and the Red Bank Lions, who entered play as the third seed. Lookouts Fall To Biscuits 10-2

The Chattanooga Lookouts dropped their series opener to the Montgomery Biscuits 10-2 on Tuesday night. Starting pitcher Kevin Abel took the loss allowing six earned runs on ten hits in four innings of work. Catcher Michael Trautwein led the Lookouts offensively going 2-3 including his second homerun of the season. The Lookouts continue their series at Montgomery on Wednesday afternoon at noon. more
