For quite a few months a friend has been recommending the Vaudeville Café to us. We finally made a reservation and enjoyed a recent Saturday night
there. It is located at 108 Tremont Street, just off Frazier Avenue.

If you are familiar with this revitalized area of North Chattanooga (the Coolidge Park area), you are probably familiar with Rock Creek Outfitters - the café is directly behind the Outfitters. It is a very charming, older building with hardwood floors.

There are several floor levels. When you go in, to your left is a
one-step-up level with approximately ten tables. The ones against the front railing are placed a little close together so your chairs are touching the ones behind you.

Two or three steps down to the lower level are a few more tables and a small stage built into the corner - this is where the grand piano sits, taking up most of the stage.

The Vaudeville Cafe is a fun place to visit. On Friday and Saturday nights
you are entertained by singing waiters and waitresses. The night we were there, a recent Saturday, we enjoyed the singing and the piano playing - everyone entertains - even a young customer played the piano.

Even though the servers are working very hard to entertain you, they are
working just as hard at giving you good service. Our server, Ben, as well as all the servers we met, were friendly and attentive, keeping drinks filled and keeping an eye on your table in the event you might need something.

We have decided we must go back on a Thursday or Sunday. Our friends said
those are the very best nights. Servers sing songs and you solve the
murder-mystery.

On Thursday at 7:00 p.m., you will be a participant in "Mystery at the Redneck-Italian Wedding." On Sunday, you can help solve the next murder during "Mystery at the Nightmare High School Reunion" at 6 p.m.

The murder mysteries feature an Italian dinner and dessert at a price of $24.50 for adults and $9 for children.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, you order from their menu, which offers
salads, sandwiches, appetizers, steaks, ribs and several Italian treats.

The manager, Chris Hampton, informed us that the Italian meals are their specialty. For the vegetarian, they offer a vegetarian pasta. There is also a list of desserts - we were told the Carrot Cake is their specialty dessert, and it was certainly very good.

Wayne tried the Cookies & Cream, which was ice cream with Oreo cookies - he decided it was a Blizzard in a bowl and was
well worth the "taste test."

They do not serve alcohol.

Hours for The Vaudeville Café, which features a non-smoking, family atmosphere, are Friday
and Saturday from 5 p.m. till 10 p.m., Thursday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m.
