Nestled in the Chattahoochee National Forest, atop Fort Mountain, resides the Cohutta Restaurant and Lodge, an easy 53 mile, 75 minute drive, from Chattanooga.

Chef, Ken Linhart has a Thanksgiving feast planned. It will feature a carving station with turkey and ham and a buffet with all the traditional favorites.

Allow plenty of time to enjoy the scenic drive. Several precipitous overlooks line the road up Fort Mountain. The glass, southern wall of the main dining room displays a spectacular, panoramic view of the mountains and valley.

Families or groups may request a private dining room. After dinner, aid digestion with a stroll on one of the many hiking trails throughout the 150 acre property or settle into a rocking chair and devour the vistas.

If unable to visit the Cohutta Lodge and Restaurant for Thanksgiving, put it on your list of favorite or “must try” restaurants. Keep this mountain resort in mind when planning a reunion, wedding, youth retreat, or school/corporate outing. The lodge offers upscale rooms. The outer buildings have rustic dormitory quarters for larger informal groups. For entertainment, there is an indoor pool, horseback riding, hiking, and a playground for the kids.
