Following the third inning of Saturday's exhibition game with Cleveland, the Atlanta Braves unveiled a new team cap and jersey.
The new uniform will be worn only at the team's thirteen Sunday home games. The uniform features the "Braves" script in blue across the chest, with the tomahawk underneath.
In addition to the red jersey, a special alternate cap with be worn for the Sunday home games featuring a navy blue background with the famed Braves "A" combined with the tomahawk in red.
In more than 130 years of Braves baseball, the team has been through an array of uniform designs, but this is the first time in team history the Braves have a uniform specifically for Sunday home games.
"The Braves wanted to incorporate one of its primary team colors into a game jersey that signifies special Sunday-only home dates," said Derek Schiller, senior vice president of sales/marketing for the Braves. "We expect the alternate, red jersey and cap to be a hot item with fans."
