Charlyne Woff Bodkin died in her sleep Thursday morning, Jan. 12, 2006.
Charlyne was a retired teacher with 35 years of service in the Hamilton County school system, teaching math and chemistry. She started her career at Lookout Valley High School then later transferred to Ooltewah Middle School and then to Ooltewah High School. She was a longtime member of the board of directors of HCEA, serving twice as president and many years as a negotiator.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Woff.
She is survived by her husband, Jon Bodkin; mother, Evelyn Woff; two sisters, Phyllis Adgent and Teresa Sheridan; brother, Charles Woff; niece, Raina Sheridan; and lifelong friend, Linda Corder.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Nelson Bennett officiating. Interment will be in Plowman Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4355 Highway 58, Suite 101, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday and 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
