Richard L. "Moon" Mullins, 72, of Chattanooga, died Friday, June 16, 2006, at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, he was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.

He was retired from the Tennessee Army National Guard and the City of Chattanooga and was a member of the American Legion in East Ridge.

He was the son of the late John Mullins. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Johnna Mullins; great-grandchild, Ashton Ryder; brother, Harry Mullins; and a sister, Muriel Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Mullins; two daughters, Connie Howland, Nashville, and Jackie Anderson, Ringgold, GA; son, Rick Mullins, Chattanooga; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; mother, Thelma Mullins; two sisters, Patsy Johnson and Marilyn Wilson; brother, Mikey Mullins, all of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Trivette officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rick Mullins, 6415 Edgmon Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
