Peter DeLynn
WTCI has announced the appointment of Peter DeLynn as vice president of production.
Mr. DeLynn has more than 15 years of experience in the television industry. Since 2003, he served as a producer at WEDU, Florida‘s most watched PBS station.
He has been responsible for productions from concept through completion, many including interactive media as well as educational/outreach components, it was stated.
“Peter brings a wealth of knowledge about producing programs that will only help WTCI bring first-class local productions to its viewing audience,” said Paul Grove, WTCI president and CEO. “We look forward to Peter helping make WTCI the first place people turn to for exceptional local programs.”
Mr. DeLynn spent eight years working in local news at an ABC affiliate (WWSB-TV) in Sarasota, Fla., working his way from associate producer to executive producer in a few short years. He was also responsible for all of the stations special projects including most notably, “9/11: The Suncoast Remembers” and “Season of Danger,” an up-close look at the lives of those who fight wildfires in the state of Florida and their families.
He left local news to work for WEDU, producing features for “A Gulf Coast Journal with Jack Perkins,” WEDU’s Emmy award-winning series about the people and places of Florida‘s Gulf Coast.
Mr. DeLynn first became interested in working in television while studying at Elizabeth Seton College. Some of his early television scripts along with his first video production, “A Holiday Offering,” a piece about the homeless during the holidays, are still being used by a former professor as teaching tools for new students.
