Tim Janis will be at the WTCI studio on Sunday at 6 p.m. when the Tennessee Valley's PBS station presents Tim Janis, An Enchanted Evening.
Tim Janis, An Enchanted Evening blends Celtic instrumentation and songs of inspiration. The music is coupled with performances from ballroom dancers Katarzyna Herink and Alex Spencer, and high-definition images from around America.
Mr. Janis will be in the WTCI studio live during the broadcast sharing some of his favorite memories of taping the special and reflect on his career.
Filmed before a live audience, Mr.
Janis and his 18-piece ensemble have made what he feels is his greatest special yet.
Featured guests include Lisa Fischer, a Grammy award winning R&B singer best known for her vocal abilities and her 1991 hit single "How Can I Ease the Pain." She sung the title song to the feature film Made in America, toured with Tina Turner, and has been a backup vocalist with The Rolling Stones for over 17 years.
Fionnuala Gill is a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Irish choral group Anúna and made her debut with Ireland's Opera Theatre Company in 1993. She has performed in the USA and London as the lead female singer in Riverdance.
Jim Cole is a self-taught guitarist/vocalist who has had numerous contemporary Christian chart-toppers. His tenor voice accompanied by his virtuoso guitar technique keeps him in high demand.
Mr. Janis, producer/composer/arranger/conductor/performer has sold over a million records from his 20 albums. He has worked with Sir Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, the late Ray Charles, George Clooney, James Earl Jones, Andre Previn, Emmanuel Ax and The New York Philharmonic Orchestra. "Tim Janis, An Enchanted Evening" is his fifth public television special, debuting on March 1.
Mr. Janis calls his life's work "Music With A Mission." His commitment to use his talent for good has resulted in a lifelong mission of mercy. He is currently working with the USO, performing for wounded soldiers and has worked on behalf of the American Cancer Society. He recorded and initiated an American tour of the all-HIV-positive Sinikithemba Choir from Durban, South Africa for the Church World Service, which raises money and awareness for victims of AIDS. And, with the blessing of the government of China, he performed a series of concerts in mainland China, including a televised stadium performance, to share the beauty of America and promote cultural cooperation.
