Donald Whaley
Donald Eugene Whaley, 77, died on Thursday, March 13, 2008 in a local hospital.
Mr. Whaley was born May 11, 1930 in Bradley County, son of the late Horace Whaley and Mamie Conner Whaley Rominger. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and attended the University of Chattanooga. He was past president of Hickory Valley Civitan Club, one of the founding members of Tyner Youth Athletics Association, and a Veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church and the James Bible Class. He retired from Dupont in 1991 after 43 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Robbie Faye Whaley; sons, Donald Victor Whaley and wife Joyce; Michael David Whaley and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Reagan, Grant, John, and Eva Whaley; all of Chattanooga; sisters, Barbara Posey and husband Gene, of Cleveland; and Betty Bratton and husband Bob, of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at Brainerd Hills Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Mason and Dr. John Barber officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The James Bible Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
