Honorees at recent Sigma Gamma Rho Scholarship Recognition Day.
Gamma Theta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. hosted its second annual Scholarship Recognition Day. 30 seniors from local high schools received certificates of recognition at First Baptist Church on Sunday, May 4.
Seniors honored were: Brainerd High School - Brittany Anderson, Rashinda Dozier, Rosetta Greer, Tazamisha Maston, Tocorria Passmore, Candice Strickland, Central High School - Sokari Atkins, Thea McGhee, Chattanooga School for Creative Arts - Marie Dance, Chattanooga School for Arts and Science - Brittany Hurt, Brittany Keehan, Donna Lee, Angelica Moore, Jasmine Scott, Hixson High School - Porschia Johnson, April Warren, Howard High School of Academics and Technology - Jasmine Glover, Ooltewah High School - Princess Brooks, Tori Cammon, Derrick Crutcher, Jasmine Horton, Red Bank High School - Thi Phuong Nam Dang, Tyner Academy - Janna Dallis, Kara Glenn, Natasha Grimes, Lundyn Howard, Tyneisha Robinson, Christina Seminario, Jessica Vinson, and Camille Woods.
Jocelyn Bryant, chapter president, announced the three recipients who will be awarded scholarships to the college of their choice. Scholarship recipients were Tori Cammon (Ooltewah High School), Angelica Moore (Chattanooga School for Arts and Science) and Camille Woods (Tyner Academy).
Recipients were selected based on their exceptional academic achievements, community service, essay, and interview questions.
Founded on the precept of education, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority promotes and encourages high scholastic attainment. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization's programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically, and economically.
