Outdoor Chattanooga will hold a public open house and grand opening ceremony for the new OutVenture Barn on Sun., Oct. 11, 4 p.m. at Greenway Farm, 5051 Gann Store Rd., in Hixson, TN.

The Grand Opening will be held in conjunction with the North Chickamauga Creek Conservancy’s Family Reunion and Greenway Farm Fall Festival, happening from 2 to 7 p.m. The festival, which features live bluegrass music, outdoor activities, and family fun, is free and open to the public.

The new OutVenture Barn has replaced the old Greenway Farm red barn, which burned to ground in April, 2008. Outdoor Chattanooga’s OutVenture programs continued uninterrupted, due to generous loans and donations of equipment and time from outdoor enthusiasts, volunteers, and Rock/Creek.

The new barn will be open for self-guided tours during the festival, from 2 – 7 p.m. The public is invited to come learn about Outdoor Chattanooga, OutVenture programs, and the conservation efforts of the N. Chick Conservancy and the Cumberland Trail Association.

Good Dog will provide food for a nominal fee, from which proceeds will go toward the North Chickamauga Creek Conservancy.
