Mark Parker Jr., 55, of Cleveland, died on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 in Knoxville.

He was employed by Highway Transport as a truck driver for 25 years. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Parker, Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Gaynell Burris Parker, of Delano; sister, Pat Owens and husband, Johnny of Cleveland; nephews, Heath Owens and wife, Virginia and Whitney Owens and wife, Jessica, all of Cleveland; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend, Tim Black.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6 at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
