The Erlanger Medical Center Finance Committee voted to approve the $1.9 million purchase of a new Phillips bi-plane cardiac cath lab equipment.
The equipment will be used to perform invasive cardiology procedures for both children and adults as well as invasive peripheral vascular procedures.
It will replace a 14-year-old system. The finance panel also approved the 2010 Erlanger budget that includes a 3 percent raise for all employees.
The full board will act on the budget on Thursday night.
Erlanger had a gain of $12,336 in May compared to a budgeted gain of $785,268.
For the year-to-date, Erlanger has a gain of $1.8 million compared to a budgeted gain of $10.3 million.
At this time last year, Erlanger has a loss of $12.2 million.
