Darren Ray Martin, 45, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., died on Jan. 6, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Darren was born April 27, 1964 in West Virginia, son of the late Ray and Cheryl Martin; and was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Grant and Marguerite Hanlon and Mack and Ida Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Taylor Martin of the residence; brother, Kevin Martin of Spring City, Tn.; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Andy Folsom of Maine; mothers-in-law and fathers-in-law, Gene and Louise Taylor of Gumberry, NC and Robert and Georgia Taylor of Seaboard, NC; brothers-in-law, Edward Taylor of Gumberry, NC, Zachary Taylor of Raleigh, NC and Ron Pippen of Elizabeth City, NC; sister-in-law, Wendy Gatewood and her husband Chris of Clayton, NC; and nephews, Blake and Brandon Folsom, Mark and Andrew Gatewood.
Services to celebrate the life of Darren will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Harvest Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Evans officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Taylor Family Cemetery in Gumberry, NC.
The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 8 from 6-9 p.m. at Ponders Funeral Home.
