Steven H. “Steve” Hicks, 50, of Cleveland, died on Sunday, April 11 in an Athens Hospital.
He was the son of the late Ernestine Bivens Hicks and William Holland Hicks. He worked as a truck driver for a number of years for L&N trucking and hauled cars for Don Burke. He was an avid Jeff Gordon and Nascar fan. He loved watching classic TV shows like the Andy Griffith Show. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his brother, Bill Mull and his wife Pam of Cleveland; his sisters, Joan Owenby and her husband Dewey of Cleveland, Darlene Hicks of Cleveland and Janet Burroughs of Hixson; nieces and nephews, Johnny Mull, Tracy Maples, Kelly Mason all of Cleveland, Sandy Williams of Mobile, Ala., Jill Park of Nashville, Jeremy Clark of Cleveland and Holly Nelson of Hixson; special great-niece and great-nephew, Haley and Brandon Clark of Cleveland; and other great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 14 at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Charles McGowan and special friend Randy Elder officiating. Interment will follow in Cottonport Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
