Ellen Orr was born October 12, 1953, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and died on July 10, 2010.

She was a 1971 graduate of Riverside High School.

She was a former employee of His’ and Hers’ Hair Salon, Hamilton County Nursing Home and The Health Center at Standifer Place.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond E. and Flora M. Norman Orr Sr.; two sisters, Janice Orr Morrison and Marion Orr Johnson; one brother, Raymond E. Orr Jr.

Ellen is survived by a devoted brother, Gene A. (Lesmer) Orr of Douglasville, Ga.; three aunts, Sadie (Joe Henry) Smith and Peggie (John) Kilpatrick, both of Chattanooga; and Jacqueline (Harold) White of Phoenix, Az.; four uncles, Paul (Mary) Norman, Bill (Hattie) Norman, Stormy Norman and Virgil, all of Chattanooga; a faithful friend, Glenda Mathis, of Chattanooga; she will be missed by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and supportive friends.

Funeral services will be on Friday, July 16, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, with Pastor Y. E. Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, July 15, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
