Donald Edward Heath, 82, of Summerville, Ga., died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Heath was born Oct. 29, 1928 in Waukegan, Ill., the son of the late Leslie and Anne McVennon Heath. He was a retired securtiy officer from Warner Southern University in Florida. He was a building contractor where he owned and operated Customline Home in Sarasota County, FL. He had served as a Florida State Representative. Mr. Heath was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea and Japan as a Medic First Calvary.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Burris; and a brother, Marvin Heath.
Mr. Heath is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hammond Heath; sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie Jr. and Faye Heath and Michael and Nina Heath; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Rohn Hurley, Rita and Tim Harton and Janice and Nick Vann; son-in-law, Larry Burris; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Hyde officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at the Mason Funeral Home, who is in charge of arrangements.
