Review for Wil Maring and Robert Bowlin:
Award-winning singersongwriter Wil Maring and virtuose guitarist and fiddler Robert Bowlin combine talents to create beautiful original acoustic music which straddles the fence between bluegrass, folk, country and even jazz music. Wil’s emotive vocal style and heartfelt lyrics have raised the eyebrows of the acoustic music world in recent years with the release of her three solo CDs and four band CDs. Wil and Robert have recently released a duo CD which is just now starting to get attention.
She has toured Japan and Europe, was a first place winner of the songwriting contest at Merlefest, a Kerrville New Folk finalist, and has performed her original music with Robert on National Public Radio and on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.
No stranger to that stage himself, Robert, a two-time National Fingerpicking and Flatpicking Guitar contest winner, has been a band member with legendary artists like Bill Monroe, Maura O Connell, Kathy Mattea, the Osborne Brothers, Tom T. Hall, Ray Price, Faron Young and many more. Robert is now making a name for himself as an artist in his own right with his first solo release Six String Soliloquy.
Wil and Robert’s music includes something to please everyone, leaving audiences spellbound long after the show is over.
